My name is James Rockliff and I am a graphic and digital designer with over five years’ experience in fast-paced government and private corporate communication and design functions. I have advanced skills in graphic and digital design, production management and stakeholder management. I excel in the prioritisation of workflow and the design and delivery of high-quality products, services and outcomes, often in busy and challenging environments.
My most recent professional engagement was as Graphic Designer and Digital Asset Manager in the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) Communications team. Initially contracted for three months in 2015, my tenure was extended to three years following my demonstrated ability to deliver on a wide-range of communication and design objectives.
In my role at Peter Mac I enhanced my skills as a graphic and digital design professional and gained a deep understanding of working in a corporate communications environment. Under the Communication and Brand Manager, I contributed to the development, design and implementation/production of:
The new Peter Mac brand, through the consistent application of the brand on corporate documents and digital systems, and the development of corporate stationery and workforce templates.
A wide range of high-quality internal and external stakeholder print, digital and environmental communication, promotional and educational materials and assets to support the organisation’s complex physical move from East Melbourne to its $1 billion purpose-built new home in Parkville, Melbourne and transition to a new cancer clinical services operating model.
I was also responsible for the maintenance – including providing technical support to all staff – of the old Peter Mac website, the new Peter Mac website (introduced in 2016) and the Peter Mac employee intranet.
As evidenced through feedback from my peers – in addition to my technical skills – I believe my friendly and helpful nature, can-do attitude, ability to think strategically and manage multiple priorities and deadlines and my focus on quality client service, particularly in periods of intense change – makes me a valuable asset to any design and communication function.
